Add 'click' animations.#23

S

When I click while screensharing, I want a small click animation to happen so that my viewer knows where I am actually clicking on the screen.

Also would be nice to control size of mouse cursor so it is easier to see.

Either size of cursor, or some other way to make it more visible. Currently I find it really hard to see. Windows has an option to select cursor size or add a trail, but I don’t really want to change those seetings each time I record something.

And for guides the ability to use a dark overlay on screenshots exclusive of the click area to highlight those clicks

Yes. This would overcome the confusion in the producted guide when one hovers over multiple items in a side panel menu to get to desired element to click on.

This feature would be a killer!

Can anyone share examples of what these animations could look like? Perhaps other apps? We’re looking for inspiration on this! Agree this is needed.

I dont know which Screen Recorder he uses, but it always appears a little red circle when he clicks:

Same thing with a blue ring, I think you get the idea ;-) Unfortunately I dont know which recorders they use…

Other related mouse features would be handy as well. I’ve seen mouse cursors that are just always larger (so easier to see in the video) or a keyboard key can be pressed which will create a zoomed box around the mouse cursor so viewers can see things easier. Even the ability to draw on screen either free hand, boxes, arrows, etc. to highlight areas on the screen that then would disappear after a set amount of time or if the screen scrolled/changed enough or with a press of a key on the keyboard.

The above mentioned recordings look like Camtasia to me. Camtasia has various options for the cursor - I believe they offer everything that has been mentioned here. If Komodo is interested, they can just install the free trial and check it out.

@Khanan Grauer Some good examples of this can be found in the Fleeq.io tool. Here is a video showing some of their click effects https://embed.fleeq.io/l/3s52l7ogxm-tz0r5lo2yu?mtype

The effect icons are a bit bulky but I would love to see something similar to their indicator, spotlight, arrow effects in Komodo. I hope this helps.

We have some good news! It’s not exactly what’s asked here, but does show click actions. This now comes standard in any guide:

@Khanan Grauer This are veeery good news!! Thank you so much… This is going in a very good direction!

I noticed that the cursor highlighter only works in the entire screen and not window recording and there is no click highlight. The click highlight actually only works for the guide.

Keep up the good work! Love your update till now…
